I have started a fucking blog...
...but only now it is fun as fuck.
So I have started my blog about 2-3 months ago. Not here, not in english. And I did not liked it.
It was easy to setup a Wordpress blog, make some changes to the theme, add some content. But the overall experience of using Wordpress is bad. I don't like the UI, I don't like the editor. I don't like the themes, all seems to be bloated.
It didn't take much time when I started to search for better platform. I like writing my notes using Markdown, and I have experience with Asciidoctor, so started to search for something where I can use one of them.
GitLab offers solutions based on HUGO or Jekyll. They seems to be easy to setup and use. But they are not. Configuration is one thing. Adding new post takes to much time. First, I have to write the post, commit it, push it, wait for the pipeline to finish, check the results. If you find any typo in the post, you have to do the same.
So, just yesterday I found https://startafuckingblog.com/. I like to have a blog, but I don't want to be fucking around with all that stuff. This is why I post on Bear Blog.
Bear is great. It easy to use, fast, minimalistic as I like. I can write my posts in Markdown, focusing on the content. Maybe I am bad at writing, my english sucks, but I don't care.
