Meetings are not free
I hate meetings!
Couple year back I was laughing when someone said to me they lost 45 minutes on a 15 minutes call. The meeting took 15 minutes for three attendees. I said: how?
Time passed, and I now only understood, that those three individuals could be working on something fun, fixing some minor issues in the code, doing the MR review. All this work, in total would be 45 minutes of good work. Instead, it was lost. Forever.
I do not like meetings. I hate recurring meetings. I had those every Friday for last 3 years, where 8 people have been rumbling for 2 hours about the task they have to do, they completed, or completed but there is a small thing to be done...
52 Fridays * 3 YEARS * 8 people * 2 hours = 2496 hours / 104 days / ~3.5 months
of lost time that could be spent for something useful.
All of the things discussed on those meeting could be done via chat message to the team leader.
I hate meetings.
