Skywayrun
Last night I took part in Skywayrun in Lublin Airport. It was a 5K run with a route along the runway. Before the run, everybody had to do a standard check-in (like before a normal flight).
The run started on Saturday exactly at 23:59 from the plane's parking area. The route was secured by the airport staff, including snow removal and ice control and follow me vehicles. While running along the taxi line, I felt like taxing in the plane (I spent hundred of hours in Flight Simulator, often flying from/to the ELPB airport).
I started the race easily, with a pace at about 7:30 min/km. After the first 1K, I felt great, so increased the pace to about 6:45. After the 2K, I started to pass some runners still feeling great, so decided to speed up even more. Before 4K, I managed to pass 30-40 other runners. 500m before the finish line, I speed up even more to the pace about 5:50 and finishing at that pace the rest of the race.
I finished the 5K race with 32:15 (6:31 min/km), and I have to say it is a very good result.
